Physiotherapy
With a combined experience of >35 years our Chartered Physiotherapists specialise in neuromusculoskeletal physiotherapy. This type of physiotherapy treats problems with the spine, joints, muscles, ligament and nerves. At an initial consultation the physiotherapist would complete a comprehensive examination that includes taking a detailed history to better understand your condition, and then an objective assessment involving joint movements, special tests and palpation. This enables the clinician to reach an accurate diagnosis and discuss with you how we can help and what is recommended in terms of treatment.
The type of treatments provided by a physiotherapist are varied, but commonly include:
- Hands-on manual therapy (joint mobilisation or manipulation)
- Soft tissue massage or myofascial release
- Ultrasound
- Strengthening exercises
- Range of motion exercises
- Strapping or taping
- Acupuncture
- Education and advice
Prior to assessment and treatment, we will always seek your consent and not undertake any treatments without your agreement.
Each of our Physiotherapists are members of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), meaning that they have a protected title and have completed an accredited University course. Our physiotherapists also hold additional MSc and PhD postgraduate qualifications.
You do not require a referral to access our physiotherapy service and can simply call the clinic to book an appointment. Most of our patient’s self-pay for treatment, but we are also registered with all major health insurance companies (AXA, BUPA, Aviva, WPA) should you wish to claim under a policy. We would require further details such as your authorisation or claim number and policy number prior to attending your initial consultation.
We accept several cash plans (Sovereign, Simply Health, Westfield) should you wish to pay for your treatment and use a receipt to claim back the cost of your treatment. We would need to know if you wish to do this prior to attending your initial consultation.
